PGA HOPE: Supporting Our Military Heroes Through Golf
PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is PGA REACH’s leading military initiative, dedicated to improving the physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being of active military personnel and veterans, including those with disabilities, through the introduction of golf.
The Central New York PGA is deeply appreciative of the sacrifices made by our active and veteran service members. To honor their service, we offer PGA HOPE, an 6-8 week developmental golf program led by PGA Professionals who are trained in both adaptive golf techniques and military culture.
Thanks to the generous funding from PGA REACH and supplemental support from PGA Section Foundations like PGA REACH Central New York, all PGA HOPE programs are provided at no cost to veterans.
Since its inception in 2017, PGA REACH CNY has successfully delivered numerous PGA HOPE programs to veterans and active-duty military across our Central New York PGA region, expanding our reach into the Southern Tier, Syracuse, Oneida, Oswego, and Utica areas. Recognizing the importance of sustained engagement, we are actively developing post-program opportunities to keep our local veterans connected and active through golf.
Moving forward, the fundraising efforts of the PGA REACH Central New York Pro-Am and ongoing donations will enable us to both sustain our existing programs and continue to give back to the veteran community who has selflessly given so much to our nation.
