PGA of America Member Dennis Colligan’s exceptional performance in 2024 helped him earn Central New York PGA Section and Senior Player of the Year honors for the second straight year. The Player of the Year Awards are presented by Rolex.
Colligan (Cazenovia Golf Club) finished with 1,265 points to win the Section Player of the Year ahead of Cazenovia Country Club’s Mark Tucker, PGA (1,171.67).
Colligan finished the season with a 71.30 scoring average. He won two events including his fourth career Section Championship. Colligan also placed second at the Senior Section Championship.
Colligan was among the five CNY PGA Members at the 2024 Senior PGA Professional Championship in Oregon last September. He will also be representing the Section at the PGA Professional Championship this Spring at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie.
In the Senior standings, Colligan finished with 1,304.17 points with Tucker coming in second (1,210).
Robert Larsen, PGA captured his second straight Assistant Player of the Year award with 765 points. Matt Campbell (Teugega CC) finished second (700).
Larsen (Onondaga Golf & Country Club) competed in eight events and finished the season with a scoring average of 76.15. Larsen finished tied for first with Rob Phelps in the Assistants Stroke Play at Onondaga and he also had two runner-up finishes.
Brittany Wowelko (CNY PGA) earned her third straight Women’s Player of the Year Award in 2024. Wowelko had a low round of 74 this season at the Rocky Kelly Pro-Junior.
After their CNY PGA Junior Tour season, Kamryn Yerman and Michael Stilwell were named girls and boys Players of the Year, respectively.
Yerman, of Frankfort, played in four events on our Junior Tour last year, coming in first in two of these starts, and second in the other two. She posted a stroke average of 80.00 that included a low round of 74.
Stilwell, of Whitesboro, entered eight Junior Tour event. He had one second place finish and had a stroke average of 75.3. His low round was 72.
