Steve Campanaro, the Head Professional at Teugega Country Club in Rome NY, has been named 2020 Central New York PGA Golf Professional of the Year.  The highest honor paid to a CNY PGA professional went to Campanaro for his overall performance at his facility, level of service to the PGA, leadership ability, image and ability to inspire fellow professionals and promotion of golf.

Campanaro prides himself in being an integral part of the Rome community.  He is grateful for the opportunity to be a leader and a PGA golf professional within the same community in which he grew up in.  He is a passionate fundraiser for the American Heart Association.  His allegiance to the American Heart Association has helped raise awareness and has contributed to helping secure significant contributions.  He also volunteers his time to several other charities including The Michelle Adey Charity, Cure Sanfallipo Charity, Rome Humane Society and The Rome Hospital Foundation.  Charitable giving and community involvement provide Steve the platform to promote the game of golf, the PGA and Teugega CC at the highest level.

When discussing this most recent accomplishment it is clear Campanaro has a tremendous affection for Teugega CC.  His appreciation for the Donald Ross famed masterpiece can be seen in the club’s willingness to have hosted several section PGA championships in recent years.  Providing outstanding service and incredible playing conditions will undoubtedly continue as Teugega CC plans to host the NYSGA Women’s Amateur Championship and Men’s Amateur Championship in 2021 and 2023 respectively.

The Central New York Section PGA is excited to announce Steve Campanaro as the 2020 Golf Professional of the Year!
