PGA of America Golf Associate Matt Campbell (Teugega CC) and PGA of America Golf Professional Steve Campanaro (Teugega CC) teamed up to win the Central New York PGA Fall Pro-Pro at McConnellsville Golf Club, finishing with a 36-hole total of 11-under-par 129 to secure a one-stroke victory.
The two-professional teams competed in three different formats throughout the 36-hole stroke play event. The opening nine holes were played in a best-ball format, followed by nine holes of modified alternate shot. Their strong second-round performance held off Mark Tucker (Cazenovia CC) and Michael Berger (Cazenovia CC), who posted the lowest round of the day with a 14-under-par 58 to finish just one stroke back at 10-under-par 130.
Zach Vinal (Yahnundasis GC) and Kobie Currie (Yahnundasis GC) finished third at 9-under-par 131 after rounds of 68 and 63. Ryan McGinnis (Turning Stone Resort Casino) and Marty Nowicki (Turning Stone Resort Casino) claimed fourth place at 7-under-par 133, followed by Jeff Reader (Life Member) and Kevin McCarthy (Timber Banks GC) in fifth at 4-under-par 136. Jonny Petrin (Cavalry Club) and Rob Marton (Cavalry Club) rounded out the top six with a 3-under-par total of 137.
