PGA of America Golf Associate Matt Campbell fired back-to-back rounds of 68 to win his third straight Central New York PGA Assistant Players Championship on June 26. The 36-hole tournament was held at Green Lakes State Park Golf Course.

At Green Lakes, Campbell finished at 6-under-par 136 overall, two strokes better than Jonny Petrin (Cavalry Club). Campbell carded eight birdies on the day against four bogeys and also had an eagle on the par-5 10th hole in the morning round.

Petrin tried to keep pace with Campbell including an eagle on No. 10 but fell short. He recorded six birdies to go with four bogeys to finish at 4-under 138.

FINAL RESULTS

Petrin and Campbell were the only golfers to finish under par.

Zach Vinal (Yahnundasis GC) was third with a 145 total.

It was Campbell’s second win in a week. On June 23, Campbell (Teugega CC) teamed up with Steve Campanaro, PGA to win the Kless Meyers Golf Pro-Pro Match Play Tournament at Owasco Country Club.
