Casey Ware named 2023 summer intern

The Central New York PGA Section is pleased to announce Casey Ware as its summer intern for the 2023 season.

The 27-year-old Ware, a former Aviation Machinist with the U.S. Navy, will serve in a variety of roles with the Section including working its major events. Since 2022, he’s been a substitute teacher in the Mexico and Syracuse City School Districts while attending Syracuse University.

Ware is scheduled to graduate from SU in December with a BS in Physical Education.

“I am looking forward to visiting all the different golf courses, meeting the variety of people at tournaments, and gaining knowledge and experience on the day-to-day operations of the tournaments and all the pieces that are required for a successful tournament,” Ware said.

Ware’s impressive resume includes receiving two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals (2016, 2019). He was named Sailor of the Year in 2016.

In an effort to help other student veterans at SU, Ware became a PAVE (Peer Advisors for Veteran Education) Advisor in January.
