Rochester native Christian Chapman shot back-to-back rounds of 67 and picked up his first professional win at the Golf Max Central New York Open at Drumlins Country Club on June 26.

 

Chapman is a graduate of St. Bonaventure and currently resides in Florida. He seized the lead during in the afternoon round after carding three birdies, an eagle on the par-5 13th hole against one bogey. He carded only two bogeys on the day and finished with an 8-under-par 134 total.

 

 

Chapman, Syracuse professional Jim Roy, professional Kevin Borowicz from Grand Island and amateur Jack Angelucci all finished the first round of the 36-hole tournament tied for the lead at 67.

 

Roy carded a 1-under 70 in the second round and finished second for the tournament, three strokes back of Chapman.

 

Angelucci placed third at 4-under 135 and was the top amateur finisher with rounds of 67-71. Angelucci finished tied for second last year in the Golf Max CNY Open at Cortland Country Club.

 

FINAL RESULTS

 

Defending champion Seth Conway finished tied for 14th.
