Teresa Cleland carded rounds of 76 and 78 to win the overall Apogee Investment Management Women’s Championship on Aug. 2. The 34th annual tournament was held at Cortland Country Club and Beaver Meadows Golf Club.
Cleland (Bellevue Country Club) now has seven Women’s AIM victories, the most titles all-time, male or female, in AIM history. She won her last title in 2013.
Cleland established a six-stroke lead after the first round at Cortland and finished with a 10-over-par 154 total.
Rheanna DeCrow recorded a 79 in the second round to place second at 17-over 161.
Cleland, a member of the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame, is one of the most decorated female golfers in local history. Cleland is a seven-time New York State champion with three women’s Mid-Amateur titles, two women’s Senior Amateur crowns, and two women’s Senior Amateur Four-Ball titles. She has also qualified multiple times for the U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur.
Cleland and Pennie Carlo teamed up to win the Team Gross Division.
Defending and five-time champion Lauren Cupp did not compete this year.
