The Central New York PGA season wrapped up in style on Monday with the final Monday event of the year — the annual Pro/Pro 36-Hole Championship hosted by Teugega Country Club.
The format features 9 holes of Alternate Shot, 9 holes of Best Ball, and a final 18 holes of Captain and Mate. After 36 holes of creative shot-making and teamwork, two teams emerged tied at the top of the leaderboard at 14-under-par 126.
PGA of America Golf Professional Dan Steinsdoerfer and PGA Associate Hunter Hubel fired a brilliant final round to reach 14-under, matching the total of Jonny Petrin and Zach Vinal, who also posted a two-round total of 126. Steinsdoerfer and Hubel claimed the victory after a four hole playoff, earning the top prize of $1,100, while Petrin and Vinal took home $900 for their runner-up finish.
Finishing just one shot back at 13-under-par 127 were Ryan McGinnis and Bob Fuller, who turned in a steady performance across all formats to claim third place.
A big thank you goes out to the staff and membership at Teugega Country Club for hosting this season finale and providing a first-class experience for all competitors. A perfect conclusion to another great CNY PGA season.
