Eric Manning’s 2022 performance helped him earn Central New York PGA Section Player of the Year honors for the second straight year as well as Senior Player of the Year. The M. Lemp Jewelers Players of the Year awards are presented by Rolex.
Manning (Elm Tree GC) finished with 1,100 points to win the Section Player of the Year ahead of Cazenovia Golf Club’s Dennis Colligan (1,075.25).
Manning won his third straight and seventh career Section Championship in September and was second in the Stroke Play Championship. He also placed first in the Turning Stone Pro-Am Series Championship.
In the Senior standings, Manning finished with 972.50 points with Nick Serafino coming in second (940). Manning captured the Senior Section Championship in a playoff over Serafino (Timber Banks GC) and Michael Deuel (En-Joie) in July.
Dylan Plis (CNY PGA) earned the Section Assistant Player of the Year award, totaling 1,150 points over Robert Larsen, Jr. (Onondaga G&CC). Plis entered 10 assistant events in 2022 and won three. He also tied for second at the CNY PGA Assistants Championship.
Brittany Wowelko (CNY PGA) finished first in the Section Women’s Player of the Year standings.
After their CNY PGA Junior Tour season, Sam Sieminski, of Canton, and Bethany Wineburg, of Homer, were named the boy and girl Players of the Year, respectively.
Both Sieminski and Wineburg were members of Team Mulherin which won the second annual Tesori/Mulherin Cup.
