The Southern Swing, an Assistant’s Major on the Central New York PGA schedule, provided an exciting finish at Corning Country Club as Hunter Hubel (Bellevue Country Club) claimed the title in a playoff over Tom Christoffersen (En-Joie Golf Club).
Both players finished regulation tied at 143 (+3), with Hubel posting rounds of 73-70 and Christoffersen carding 72-71. Hubel secured the victory with steady play under pressure in the playoff, capturing one of the season’s final major for assistants only in the Section.
Rounding out the top finishers was Robert Larsen Jr. (Onondaga Golf & C.C.), who finished third at 145 (+5). David Horn (Tioga Country Club) placed fourth at 148 (+8), followed by Michael Berger (Cazenovia Country Club) and Dylan Plis (Central New York Section) tied for fifth at 149 (+9).
