As the golf world turns its attention to this week’s PGA Championship, reigning CNYPGA Section Champion, Nick Serafino of Timber Banks Golf Club believes the true challenge at Aronimink Golf Club will come not from sheer distance, but from precision and discipline.

Serafino, who has the opportunity to play Aronimink multiple times, praised both the course and the overall experience players will encounter this week.

“I have had the pleasure to play at Aronimink a few times,” Serafino said. “The golf course and facilities are some of the best you will find anywhere.”

Serafino pointes to the challenge of Aronimink that he believes will ultimately decide the championship.

“What the players this week will encounter is not so much the length of the course, but probably the most challenging green complexes that they will face all year”.

“The player who will win is the one who has discipline – the ability to keep the ball below the hole and avoid short-sided misses,” he said.

Weather conditions could also play a significant role in how the course performs. Serafino noted that firm and fast conditions would allow Aronimink to play the way it was designed.

“Hopefully the weather will hold with no rain so the course will play as intended…firm and fast,” he said.

With one of golf’s major championships set to unfold on one of the game’s most historic venues, Serafino is eager to watch the week ahead.

“I’m looking forward to watching a great PGA Championship on one of America’s iconic golf courses.”
