After an outstanding 2026 season, PGA of America Golf Professional Eric Manning earned Central New York PGA Section and Senior Player of the Year honors. The Section’s Player of the Year Awards are presented by Rolex.

Manning (Elm Tree GC), who also won both Section and Senior POY in 2022, finished with 1,167.5 points to add another Section Player of the Year trophy to his resume. Turning Stone Resort Casino’s Ryan McGinnis, PGA (1,012.5) finished second in the standings.

Manning won his eighth career Section Championship in August and the CNY Open in June. He also finished second at the Senior Championship.

In the Senior standings, Manning accrued 1,335 points playing in 11 events with 2025 Senior POY Tim Hume (McConnellsville GC) coming in second (1,235).

Jonny Petrin (Calvary Club) earned his first Section Assistant Player of the Year award, totaling 1,325 points. Matt Campbell (Teugega CC) was second.

Petrin had 11 top 5 finishes including a second-place finish at the CNY PGA Assistants Championship. He also won the Turning Stone Pro-Team and Assistants Southern Swing.

No Section Women’s Player of the Year  was awarded this year because the criteria of playing in three point events was not met.

After their CNY PGA Junior Tour season, Anthony Thousand, of Chittenango, won the Section’s Boy Player of the Year while Lindsey Chong, of Manlius, earned her second straight Girl’s Player of the Year award.

Congratulations to all our 2026 Players of the Year!
