For the second straight year, PGA of America Golf Member Ryan McGinnis has been selected as a Golf Range Association of America Top 100 Growth of the Game Teaching Professional.
McGinnis is currently featured for the month of January in Golf Range Magazine on GolfRange.org.
In a social media post, McGinnis (Turning Stone Resort Casino) credits his family, his students and Turning Stone Resort Casino for his latest GRAA honor.
“They say to do what you love and you will never work a day in your life,” McGinnis posted on Facebook. “Blessed to get up every day and help make a difference through the game of golf.”
McGinnis has spent countless hours working year-round looking to make an impact and help his students improve as a Teaching Professional.
McGinnis conducts more than 65 golf clinics per year at Turning Stone. His clinics, which cover different aspects of the game on any given session, include men, women and juniors. He also gives more than 1,500 individual lessons to students in a year.
McGinnis also won the GRAA Top 100 honor last year.
McGinnis was honored by the CNY PGA last December when he was awarded the Teacher and Coach of the Year Award for his efforts in golf instruction. McGinnis has also won the 2022 Patriot Award, 2022 PGA Jr. League #GameChanger Award for our Section, 2020 Player Development Award and the 2018 Assistant Professional of the Year.
McGinnis’ dedication to growing the game is evident in the multiple programs he’s instituted. They include PGA Jr. League, PGA HOPE, Drive, Chip and Putt Clinics, Decade Golf Course Management, Junior Golf Academy and his open clinics at Turning Stone.
McGinnis has the distinction of introducing the first PGA HOPE program for Veterans and Military members in the Section. The programs at Turning Stone are among the largest in the country with more than 300 participants annually.
For McGinnis, building relationships is the key to golf instruction.
