The Central New York PGA is pleased to announce Michael Deuel, PGA (En-Joie Golf Club) has been named 2022 Golf Professional of the Year.
The highest honor paid to a CNY PGA professional went to Deuel for his overall performance at his facility, level of service to the PGA, leadership ability, and ability to inspire fellow professionals and promotion of golf.
“Just being nominated is very flattering, but receiving the award is greatly appreciated and humbling,” said Deuel, of Endicott. “It is tremendous to receive such an award being it is voted on by your peers and fellow golf professionals. Having my PGA colleagues recognize me for the award makes me feel honored and very appreciative.”
Deuel will be honored with other Section Special Award Winners at the 19th annual Special Awards and Holiday Banquet on Dec. 1 at Drumlins Country Club.
Deuel, 53, has been a PGA member for 26 years and has served as the head professional at En-Joie for the last 17 years. Deuel’s exemplary work is a key reason why En-Joie is a premier golf destination.
Deuel’s commitment to providing outstanding service, to members and guests alike, has been a motivating factor throughout his career. Under Deuel, En-Joie has proudly hosted annually the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open, CNY PGA Section events, CNY PGA Junior Tour events and Triple Cities Golf Association events.
