The Central New York PGA Section and PGA REACH CNY are excited to kick off the 2024 PGA National HOPE 4 Heroes Campaign.

PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is a national PGA REACH program that is changing the lives of our Veterans. As strong advocates for our Veteran community, we support our troops who are actively serving and those transitioning back to everyday life in our country. PGA HOPE is making this a reality for thousands of servicemembers – all through the game of golf.

The HOPE 4 Heroes fundraising campaign for PGA HOPE programming began Nov. 1 and will run until Dec. 31.

Here in Central New York, last year’s Online PGA HOPE Campaign successfully reached its goal, raising $10,025.

In 2024, PGA HOPE CNY saw more than 420 Veterans graduate from Section programs. Your generous donations help create five new local PGA HOPE programs in addition to supporting our established programs.

Our 2024 Section programs include:

*(New) Wa-Noa Golf Course by PGA of America Golf Professional Mel Baum, PGA and Tim Hume, PGA

*Binghamton Country Club by Rick Keding, PGA

*Tioga Golf Club by Jason Harris, PGA

*Turning Stone Resort Casino by Ryan McGinnis, PGA

*(New) Southern Tier at Soaring Eagles Golf Course by Matt Jaynes, PGA and Steve Volpicelli, PGA

*(New) Oswego Country Club by Michael Hogan, PGA, Jon Fowler, PGA and Will Weimer, PGA

*(New) Pompey Club by Joe Tesori, PGA and Dylan Plis, PGA Associate

*(New) Chenango area at Batch Coffee by Ryan Evans, PGA

Our campaign to raise money for this important cause has begun. Our Section’s goal this year is $10,000. All funds raised will go directly back into our local programming which directly impacts Veterans’ lives.

PGA HOPE CNY hopes to expand further next year with 17 programs including the first women’s only Veterans program at Drumlins Country Club. New PGA HOPE programs are scheduled for 2025 at Crystal Springs Golf Course in Vernon, Game Knows Sports Training in Cortland, Dick’s House of Sports in Vestal, Drumlins Country Club, Dutch Hollow Country Club, McConnellsville Golf Course, Stone Creek Golf Course, Teugega Country Club, Tuscarora Golf Club and in the Whitney Point area.

We hope you will consider donating to the PGA National HOPE 4 Heroes campaign to benefit our CNY PGA HOPE Veteran’s Programs during the Nov. 1-Dec. 31 timeframe. Go to pgahope.com and be sure to comment for Central New York.

We’d like to recognize and thank Visions Federal Credit Union and Director of Branding and Public Relations Tim Strong for being the Presenting Sponsor of PGA REACH CNY and Presenting Sponsor of the PGA HOPE pillar.

Another important show appreciation goes to Usherwood Office Technology. Usherwood was the PGA HOPE CNY Gift Sponsor. Thanks to Usherwood’s generosity, every PGA HOPE CNY participant received a CNY PGA Players Card this season.

Nationally in 2023, the PGA HOPE campaign raised $415,355, exceeding its goal of $400,000. This annual campaign celebrates our nation’s heroes who protect our freedom, while raising awareness and support for PGA HOPE.

Veterans have given everything to be there for our country when we need it the most. We need to be there when they come back. PGA HOPE aims to serve more than 50,000 Veterans each year by the end of 2024, at more than 550 program locations nationwide.
