The team of Dallas Pylinski (PGA of America Golf Professional) and Tyler Cowen (PGA Associate) finished atop the leaderboard at the Pro-Assistants Championship on Sept. 29 at The Cavalry Club.
Pylinski and Cowen (Seven Oaks Golf Club) won the event after carding a 9-under-par 63 in the 18-hole better ball format. The pair combined for eight birdies including six on the first seven holes. Their only bogey came on the par-4 10th hole.
Cowen also recorded an eagle on the par-5 17th hole for his team.
Pylinski and Cowen won by one stroke, holding off Michael Deuel, PGA and Tom Christoffersen, PGA Associate (En-Joie Golf Club). Deuel and Christoffersen played bogey-free golf and carded eight birdies for an 8-under 64
Third place belonged to Bruce Martins, PGA and Eric Manning, PGA (Elm Tree GC) with a 7-under 65.
Cazenovia Country Club’s Michael Berger, PGA had a tournament highlight with a hole-in-one on No. 13. Berger and Mark Tucker, PGA finished tied for fourth at 6-under 66 with two other teams.
Also tied for fourth were: Teugega Country Club (Steve Campanaro/Matt Campbell) and Yahnundasis Golf Club (Jim Ironside/Zach Vinal).
Twenty-six teams competed in the tournament.
