The 12th season of Drive, Chip and Putt is underway as registration is now open for local qualifiers.

A junior golfer’s dream of receiving an invitation to Augusta National Golf Course begins with a local qualifier and the Central New York PGA Section will be host to four. The dates and venues are:

July 2: Timber Banks Golf Club and Marina

July 7: Soaring Eagles Golf Course, Horseheads

July 18: Green Lakes State Park Golf Course

July 29: Teugega Country Club, Rome

Qualifying events for Drive, Chip and Putt are for boys and girls ages 7-15. The DCP is a free program conducted in conjunction with the PGA of America, USGA, and Masters Tournament. This year, there will be 357 qualifying sites nationwide beginning May 2.

Participants are grouped in four separate girls’ and boys’ age divisions with scoring centered around skill performance in driving, chipping and putting. Top age group performers at the local level will advance through subregional and regional qualifiers.

The 2025 Sub-Regional Qualifier will be held Aug. 20 at Turning Stone Resort Casino. The top performers from the Turning Stone Sub-Regional advance to the Regional Qualifier at The Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, NJ on Sept. 20.

Winners from the Regional Qualifier receive an invitation to the 2026 National Drive, Chip and Putt Finals at Augusta prior to the Masters.

This April, Thomas Goodelle will represent the CNY PGA at the national finals.  The New Hartford High School freshman earned a trip to Augusta last September. Goodelle won the 14-15 age group during the Regional Qualifiers at the Ridgewood Country Club in New Jersey.

The Masters is scheduled to begin April 7, 2025, with the Drive, Chip and Putt national finals the day before.
