Michelle Murphy topped the leaderboard in the PGA Professional category while Meadowbrook Golf Course placed first in the scramble team event at the Rocky Kelly Pro-Junior Tournament on Aug. 14.

 

The tournament annually takes place at Green Lakes State Park Golf Course where Kelly was the head professional. Members of the Kelly family were on hand for the event.

 

Murphy (Accelerate Sports) finished with a 6-under-par 65. She shot a 30 on the back 9 featuring two eagles, on holes 12 and 18, and three birdies. Murphy carded a total of two eagles, six birdies and four bogeys on the day.

 

 

Kyle Siegel (Beaver Meadows GC) was second at 3-under 68. Joey Tesori (CNY PGA), Matt Jaynes (Corning CC) and Kevin McCarthy (Timber Banks) finished tied for third at 2-under 69.

 

FINAL RESULTS

 

For the second straight year, Meadowbrook won the team event. Trey Walewski captained the winning Meadowbrook team which finished at 18-under 53 in the Team Scramble with juniors Dan Maloney, Tommy Goodelle and Jacob Olearczyk. All teams consisted of one professional and three juniors.

 

Drumlins Country Club featuring Sean Dadey, PGA, and his team of Brayden Thomas, Eric Lee and Lindsay Chong finished second at 17-under 54.

 

John Plumb from Antiqua provided this year’s tee gifts. Junior players received a football and professionals received a fleece vest.
