FAYETTEVILLE, NY – Round one of the 2025 Central New York PGA Women’s AIM Championship is in the books following a damp and chilly start at Green Lakes Golf Course. Despite colder weather than our recent hot spell and a rainy morning, players across multiple divisions showcased their talent in one of CNY’s most prestigious women’s golf events.
Leading the individual competition is Teresa Cleland, who carded a stellar 3-under-par 72. Her round featured three birdies and a crucial eagle on the par-5 15th hole, putting her in solo first place heading into the final round. Cleland, a seven-time champion and the event’s defending champion, once again proved why she’s a dominant force in this tournament.
In the Senior Gross Division, Pennie Carlo and Monica Hamilton sit tied atop the leaderboard at even par. Both players navigated the challenging course with consistent play to remain in striking distance of the overall title.
The Team Gross Competition saw Cleland and Hamilton pair up to post a team score of 8-under, giving them a three-shot cushion over the team of Lauren Cupp and Pennie Carlo, who are currently at 5-under.
In addition to the individual and senior competitions, players are also competing in net divisions, adding depth and excitement to the overall event.
Tomorrow’s final round will take place at Lakeshore 1860, with tee times beginning at 8:00 a.m.
The Central New York PGA extends sincere thanks to our event partners Apogee Investment Management and DeFrancisco & Falgiatano Personal Injury Attorneys for their continued support of women’s golf and the Women’s AIM Championship.
