The Central New York PGA Special Awards Committee determined the finalists for this year’s Special Awards. Below we recognize the finalists for the Bill Strausbaugh Award.

 

The Bill Strausbaugh Award recognizes the PGA of America Golf Professional who by their day-to-day efforts have distinguished themselves by mentoring their fellow PGA Professionals by improving their employment situations and through service to the community.

 

The winners in all categories will be announced at the annual Section Holiday Party on Dec. 4.

 

Finalists for the Strausbaugh Award are:

 

Steve Nacewicz, PGA (Crestwood Golf Club)

Steve has made a concerted effort to mentor the next generation of PGA Members through the experiences he gained along his journey in facility acquisition, course ownership and director of golf leadership skills. Steve also supports local community businesses and participates in numerous charitable efforts.

 

Will Weimer, PGA (Stone Creek Golf Club)

Will’s leadership skills are built on service, integrity, and leading by example. During his career, he has prioritized mentoring PGA Associates, Assistants and peers. Will contributes to his community in different ways including as an elected member of the Town of Oswego Board.
