The finalists for the 2025 Golf Professional of the Year were determined by the Central New York PGA Special Awards Committee in October. The winner will be announced at the annual Section Holiday Party on Dec. 4.
Golf Professional of the Year is the Section’s highest honor. It is awarded to a PGA of America Professional and based on the individual’s overall performance at their facility, level of service to the PGA, leadership, ability to inspire fellow professionals and promotion of the game of golf.
This year’s finalists for Golf Professional of the Year are:
Sean Dadey, PGA (Drumlins CC)
Sean takes pride in maintaining a high-level of professionalism and integrity as a PGA Professional. He is dedicated to the growth of the game which has fostered his development as both a professional and a teacher, particularly through his involvement in the PGA REACH program. Sean won this award in 2011.
Dennis Estes, PGA (Cavalry Club)
Dennis relies on important core qualities such as relationship building, communication and adaptability in his role as Head Golf Professional at Cavalry Club. For Dennis, having a solid rapport with his membership and staff is at the forefront of his success in the business of golf.
Ryan Hammerle, PGA (Onondaga Golf & CC)
Ryan is a leader by example and strives to connect with a wide variety of people. Ryan’s work ethic matches his energetic demeanor. He excels at making adjustments when needed, communicating clearly and creating a positive environment for both his staff and membership.
Steve Volpicelli, PGA (Soaring Eagles GC)
Professional and personable, Steve provides a high-level of service to his patrons at Soaring Eagles. Steve understands the importance of leading by example. His leadership skills are built on communication, integrity, empathy, self-awareness, being consistent in decisions and being trustworthy.
