The Central New York PGA continues to recognize the finalists for this year’s Special Awards. Below we recognize the finalists for the Professional Development Award.
This award is given to an individual PGA of America Golf Professional for their outstanding and continuing contributions to professional education.
The winners in all categories will be announced at the annual Section Holiday Party on Dec. 4.
Finalists for the Professional Development Award are:
Michael Discenza, PGA (CNY PGA)
Michael makes a concerted effort to promote and educate PGA Members and Associates on the benefits of advancing junior golf programming at their facilities and offers strategies on how to do so. Michael believes being organized, having a plan, and following though are keys to professional development success. He has won this award three times.
Martha Wells, PGA (PGA of America)
For Martha, leadership is built on certain traits such as being open, honest and empathetic which helps to foster relationships and build trust. In her role as PGA Regional Career Consultant for Western NY, Central NY and NE NY, Martha works with PGA Professionals and Associates to help make their lives better, professionally and personally.
