Fayetteville, NY — On Monday, the Central New York PGA gathered at the stunning Green Lakes Golf Course for one of its most meaningful traditions: the Rocky Kelly Pro-Junior. Hosted on the course where beloved PGA of America Golf Professional Rocky Kelly served for many years, the event honors his legacy by combining competitive golf with camaraderie between PGA Professionals and junior players.

Professionals competed in a player of the year stroke play format, while their junior partners—male and female players from across the region—teamed for a scramble. Juniors had the added benefit of incorporating their professional’s shot on any matching stroke number, creating a unique and collaborative format.

The team from The Pompey Club emerged victorious in the scramble competition with a dominant 21-under-par performance. Team members Jackson Saroney, Emmet Kilmartin, and TJ Gardner shot an incredible 24 on the front nine and 26 on the back. Their round was highlighted by a hole-in-one from Gardner on the par-3 second hole, propelling them to a 5-shot victory over the rest of the field.

In the professional stroke play event, Tim Hume delivered a season-best performance with a scorching 8-under-par 63, earning his first victory of the 2025 season and finishing six shots clear of the nearest competitor.

The Kelly family was on-site once again to support the event, a testament to their ongoing dedication to Rocky’s memory. The CNY PGA continues to honor his legacy by creating opportunities for youth to compete, learn, and be inspired by the professionals who carry forward the spirit of the game.

The Rocky Kelly Pro-Junior remains a cornerstone event on the CNY PGA calendar—celebrating excellence, mentorship, and the enduring legacy of one of Central New York’s most beloved golf professionals.
