PGA of America Golf Professional Mark Tucker finished atop a tight leaderboard to win the Turning Stone Resort Casino Pro-Am Series Championship on Sept. 9. The final event of the Pro-Am Series was held at Mark Twain Golf Course in Elmira.
An eagle on the 458-yard par-5 17th hole helped propel Tucker (Cazenovia Country Club) to victory by one stroke over Robert Larsen (Onondaga Golf and Country Club). Tucker finished at 3-under-par 69 with an eagle, three birdies and two bogeys.
Larsen placed second with a 2-under 70 after carding a tournament-best seven birdies against five bogeys.
There was a three-way tie for third place at 1-under 71 between Tim Hume (McConnellsville GC), Dennis Colligan (Cazenovia GC) and Eric Manning (Elm Tree GC). A year ago, Colligan and Manning tied for first in the event.
Hume’s 71 topped the Senior Division leaderboard.
The Turning Stone Resort Casino team, led by Alan Savage, PGA, placed first in the team division with a 14-under 128. The amateurs playing with Savage were Jon Fellows, Brian Burns and John Zych.
