Kevin VandenBerg capped off an impressive 2022 season by being ranked second among USA Today/Golfweek’s Senior Amateur Golfers.
VandenBerg finished behind 2022 U.S. Senior Amateur champion Rusty Strawn, of McDonugh, Ga., (11415 points). VandenBerg totaled 9785.8 points. Allen Peake, of Macon, Ga., was third. The 2022 final USA Today/Golfweek standings were posted last December. Rankings are based on points earned at national senior amateur events.
VandenBerg, of Pulaski, is the founder and CEO of Apogee Investment Management, a presenting sponsor for the AIM Championships.
VandenBerg captured two major senior amateur titles in 2022: the Heron Creek Senior Invitational and the Senior Porter Cup. He also had eight other top five national tournament finishes. Last September, VandenBerg won the New York State Golf Association Senior Amateur.
