PGA HOPE CNY veterans gathered at Drumlins Country Club for the Visions Veterans Classic, an event that brought together local veterans, Visions Federal Credit Union employees and community partners for a day of golf, camaraderie and connection.
The day began with a 45-minute golf clinic led by PGA REACH CNY Executive Director Joe Tesori. The veteran community holds a special place for Tesori, whose mother is a veteran.
“The Visions Veterans Classic was an amazing opportunity to get our local HOPE veterans together with our great partners from Visions Federal Credit Union,” Tesori said. “Each foursome had a group of three veterans and one Visions employee in a fun and relaxed captain and crew format event.”
The event also featured the Syracuse University Office of Veteran and Military Affairs (OVMA), while News Channel 9 was in attendance to help capture the experience and make the day memorable for everyone involved.
A major part of the event’s success came from the dedicated team of people from Visions, along with Emily Vail and Tim Strong, whose efforts helped create a memorable experience for the participating veterans.
Visions Federal Credit Union is the Presenting Partner of PGA HOPE CNY and has played an important role in supporting opportunities for local veterans beyond the traditional PGA HOPE program.
“This event capped a tremendous year with our presenting sponsors of the PGA HOPE CNY Play Days,” Tesori said. “Visions has been nothing short of spectacular to work with. Their support and commitment to our foundation truly is inspiring and we cannot wait for 2027!”
The Visions Veterans Classic provided another opportunity for PGA HOPE CNY veterans to come together and enjoy the game of golf while strengthening the relationships between the veteran community and the organizations that support them.
