Area junior golfers vied for age group division titles Aug. 13-14 at the Central New York PGA Junior Tour Championships which was held at Turning Stone Resort Casino.

 

The two-day tournament capped off the Junior Tour 2025 season with boys and girls ages 9-18 competing in their respective divisions. Round 1 was held at the Shenendoah course while Round 2 took place at the Kaluhyat course.

 

A total of 65 golfers competed in the Junior Tour Championships.

 

FINAL RESULTS

 

This year’s winners by age group were:

 

Boys 9-11: Bryson Strohl of Rome

Boys 12-13: Collin Helmer of Manlius

Boys 14-15: Ashton Ricci of Vernon

Boys 16-18: Brayden Thomas of East Syracuse

Girls 9-11: Leslie Cupp of Rome

Girls 12-14: Charlotte Brown of Cicero

Girls 15-18: Kamryn Yerman of Frankfort

 

Among the tournament highlights:

 

*Brayden Thomas shot a bogey-free 6-under-par 66 at Shenendoah in the first round en route to the boys 16-18 crown. Thomas finished four strokes ahead of Drew Kippen. Also this month, Thomas placed third at the 68th NYS Boys’ 14U Junior Amateur Championship.

 

*Kamryn Yerman, last year’s Junior Girls Player of the Year, held off Lindsey Chong to win the girls 16-18 title by six strokes.

 

 

The CNY PGA Junior Tour would like to thank host Turning Stone Resort Casino for giving junior players the opportunity to compete on their renowned courses.

At the conclusion of the tournament, the Junior Player of the Year awards were determined. The 2025 boys and girls players of the year were:

 

Boys 12-13: Alex Drogo of Jamesville

Boys 14-15: Brayden Sheridan of Baldwinsville

Boys 16-18: Nathan Brown of Cazenovia

Girls 12-14: Charlotte Brown of Cicero

Girls 15-18: Lindsey Chong of Manlius
